Role and Responsibilities

Anne Lewis Strategies is looking for a direct-response marketer with experience optimizing digital campaigns for campaigns and nonprofit organizations. The right person will be a creative strategist with experience in supporter engagement, digital fundraising, advocacy and social media to help our clients run best-of-breed digital programs in support of their mission.

The Senior Digital Strategist position encompasses creative thinking, top-notch writing, analytical assessment and team-management skills. This individual will be on the front lines of the client relationship and responsible for the designing and implementation of cross-channel digital marketing campaigns that deliver stellar results. You will work with many clients with very different types of engagements, but you won’t be alone: You’ll be managing a team of online associates, copywriters and production staff.

Other responsibilities will include:

•  Working with clients to assess their online marketing, advocacy and technology needs while identifying future needs and opportunities;
•  Designing innovative digital fundraising, advocacy and communications campaigns;
•  Leading cross-functional teams to implement client campaigns over all digital channels, including email, web, social media and search;
•  Assessing client KPIs and ensuring maximum ROI of digital campaigns;

•  Providing clients with strategic marketing planning, including revenue forecasting and budgeting;

Qualified candidates should have:

•  7-10 years of agency or nonprofit experience in digital communications, fundraising and marketing for nonprofit organizations;
•  Client management experience is a plus;
•  Experience managing cross-functional project teams;
•  Ability to juggle multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment;
•  Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills;
•  Experience working with eCRM platforms such as Salsa, Salesforce or Convio Luminate;

Director of Digital Production and Analytics

We’re looking for a visionary manager who believes in using tech and data to help us elect more Democrats, propel nonprofits and make the world a better place. If that’s you, read on.

Anne Lewis Strategies leads online communications and fundraising strategy for some of the country’s leading Democratic campaigns and top nonprofit organizations. We’re looking for someone to lead our talented digital production and analytics team, responsible for flawless execution and analysis of email, web and social assets for our clients.

The Director of Digital Production and Analytics leads the team responsible for the quality, accuracy and timely completion of all digital production assets for the firm, as well as the ultimate analysis of their performance. She/he also serves as a conduit between the strategy and writing teams and the folks who get it all done.

Responsibilities:

You will lead a crack team of 3-10 staff and help them do their best work. Day to day you will:

•  Oversee the production team to ensure on-time completion of all digital content;
•  Own the workflow and processes;
•  Suss out work that has become stuck in the workflow and unstick it;
•  Suggest continuous improvements in our processes;
•  Facilitate strong, positive communication between the production team and other teams in the firm;
•  Project and prioritize the production team’s workload, including maintaining staffing needs and recommending the right configuration of staff to get all the work completed accurately and on time; and
•  Solve problems, be they technical, workflow or staff-related.

You will also be proactive about improving processes, capturing knowledge and the overall fitness of the team. This includes overseeing:

•  Documenting the firm’s existing and newly acquired knowledge;
•  Arranging training opportunities for team to learn the new things;
•  Ensuring proper full- and part-time staffing and other resources; and
•  Establishing new processes (and reforming existing ones) to accommodate an ever-evolving business.

Qualifications:

There is no one qualification that makes a great manager, but these are things we think will help you excel at this role:

•  Previous experience managing a team of multiple direct reports, including some who worked remotely;
•  Passion for diving into processes and systems with a keen eye for improving them;
•  Ability to balance multiple projects, tasks, priorities and stakeholders simultaneously to ensure the delivery of dozens of requests;
•  Familiarity with JIRA or other ticketing/workflow software can have you running on day one;
•  Experience or familiarity with any of the platforms we use regularly would serve you well. The team works in all the commonly used CRM, email, donation and advocacy platforms, including BSD Tools, Salsa, NGP, Blackbaud Luminate (formerly Convio), ActBlue and IBM Marketing Cloud (formerly Silverpop Engage); Knowledge of HTML and CSS, particularly as it pertains to designing and developing HTML email, JavaScript and jQuery.
•  Proficiency with SQL or similar to collect data and populate reports; and

Digital Associate

Here at Anne Lewis Strategies, we’re a team of digital-obsessed tech nerds and nonprofit-loving do-gooders.

We are seeking a full-time Digital Advertising Associate to help develop, execute, and optimize online advertising and acquisition for our growing client base. Successful candidates will be responsible for:

Digital Production Assistant

At Anne Lewis Strategies, LLC, a strategic online communications consulting firm in Washington, D.C., we work with some of the nation’s leading Democratic and progressive campaigns. We are looking for someone with the tech know-how to join our digital production team in producing top-notch emails, web pages, and other digital content for our clients. We hope you might be the one to join us as we test new ideas, challenge even the most basic of assumptions, and innovate beyond them.

Our digital production team is responsible for producing emails for clients, expanding their online presence, and having a role in online advocacy, fundraising, social media and list growth strategy.

Qualifications:

•  Strong HTML knowledge necessary, at least some CSS preferred
•  Knowledge of a CRM or ESP is strongly preferred; we’re particularly interested in your experience with platforms like Salsa Labs, Blue State Digital Tools, IBM Marketing Cloud (aka Silverpop Engage), Luminate Online (aka Convio), or NGP’s email tools. You haven’t just set up an email or two using a WYSIWYG in one of these; you’ve coded dozens using the HTML editor.
•  Attention to detail is your middle name
•  Strong Excel skills and a working knowledge of Photoshop are big pluses
•  Bachelor’s degree preferred

Anne Lewis Strategies Internship

As an intern at Anne Lewis Strategies, you won’t be spending days making photocopies and answering the phone. We are a fast-growing firm looking to make you a part of our team working in the digital world for Democrats and major nonprofits. No two days are the same – you’ll work across the field of what we do:

•  You’ll be the last set of eyes on emails that will decide some of this cycle’s biggest races.
•  You’ll help design and report on the emails we’re sending and the tactics we’re testing.
•  You’ll draft copy for our clients across the spectrum, from nonprofits defending the environment to national party committees and some of the highest-profile members of the U.S. Senate.

This position reports to our production director and copy editor. And look: It’s a real stepping stone. Past interns are on staff at Anne Lewis Strategies, working for campaigns and have gone on to elite graduate programs, including Harvard Law School and Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern.

Successful candidates will have strong writing and editing experience. Experience with Excel, web design, graphic design or email platforms are big pluses.
