Melanie Buck, Vice President

Melanie Buck has led some of the biggest digital efforts in politics, including those of Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), Sen. Michael Bennet (D-CO), Daily Kos, the Democratic Governors Association and Hillel: The Foundation for Jewish Campus Life. In 2016, she guided the DGA to a record-breaking fundraising cycle and several key wins, among them New Hampshire Gov. Maggie Hassan. Melanie helped Sen. Gillibrand raise more than $2 million for Democratic women candidates, establishing the senator as a “Democratic powerhouse” (POLITICO) and “one of the top female fundraisers in the Senate”(NPR).

An expert in acquiring new supporters, Melanie spearheaded the development of a digital tool that has helped Daily Kos and its partners recruit more than a million supporters.

Previously, Melanie was a policy associate at the Sunlight Foundation, where she helped coordinate advocacy efforts on key government accountability legislation, frequently blogged on relevant policy topics and conducted comparative studies of government efforts to provide more information to their citizens.

An American University alumna, Melanie graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in communications, law, economics and government and summa cum laude with a Master’s in political communication.
